I got my first handicap last week, and entered my first club competition today playing off 16. Playing stroke play I shot a net -1 under, after a poor first nine I came back three over and ended up shooting my best score ever!!!:D:D:D

Not only that but i got back to the clubhouse to find myself leading with ten guys to come in.

However after entering my round on the computer with my playing partner I dashed off only to get home and find my card in my back pocket....DOH!!!:o

Anyone else suffered in the same way?

Shame  but well done on your round! Only a matter of time til that 16 comes tumbling down.

Whenever I have a good one I fuss and fret until I see the scores published in case I have pulled some kind of faux pas on the recording and signing front.

Ha ha I did the opposite blunder, I made my first comp a medal off my shiny new 17 hdcp and shot 105 :(

Thankfully won the next 2 and made up for it. Sadly I almost lost the second one but my pp and good friend did what you did!

if the score was entered in to the computer would you have had time to go back and put your card in before the match secretary retrieves all the cards ?

not necessarily, his course may also have a ridiculous SSS ;)

Lol......our medal yesterday was won by a 3 handicapper who shot level gross off the silvers 6,750 yards in the wind and rain and only got a 0.1 cut for his efforts.... :o
No other cuts for the entire field......one 5 handicapper shot 20 over gross and a 6 handicapper was 14 over gross..........CSS stayed at 72 (2 below par).... Joke!
joke!

What is worse is if your marker goes home with your card in his back pocket! A player at our club who had a good score was recently DQ'd because his group had started from the 10th hole, but his marker had entered his scores from the 1st hole. He had signed for several scores that were less than he had actually scored on several holes, so no alternative to a DQ! :(
