First round at new club, 75 gross for 53 points!

Played my first round at my new second club Garesfield today, I have been going round in 90s at Matfen for a about a year now with the occasional round below 90. Went out in 40 (2 over) and back in 35 (1 over). 2 birdies, 5 bogeys and 11 pars for a gross 75! Stableford worked out at 53 points which is obscene.

I'm quite glad it wasn't a comp as although I would have loved a big cut it wouldn't have been a very good way to announce myself to a new club!

I look just a little bit special at the minute with a massive cheesy grin on my face!

It was no coincidence that I left my driver in the car as well, 3 wood of the tee is the future!

Run and hide when word gets out about that score your going to need a suit of armour for protection from the clubs getting thrown at you. Mind you on a plus side you'll be able to sell them on ebay!

I have to admit that I am one of the sad bitter (but not twisted) folks whose instant reaction is that there is something dishonest about your handicap. My rule of thumb is that the magical net 59 is seen say once every 5 years on the tour. Your net 55 has never been seen before. I would cosy up to the handicap secretary and discretely ask for a cut (actually a wild slash with a machete).

Nevertheless, what a score and well done.
