I'm playing in my first pro am on Wednesday at Burnham Berrow GC in the Lombard trophy.
I'm a little nervous but really looking forward to it as my game is going really well.

Me too, what time are you teeing off?

You are not the one who does this for a living and is expected to impress. The pros assume they will have to do all the heavy lifting and anything the ams contribute is a bonus. Assuming it is best x of y scores on a hole by hole basis, if you make a mess of one hole, don't worry about it, you can contribute on the next instead.

Yeah it's fourball and that's the advice I've already been given. Go out, enjoy it and anything you score is a bonus.
Keep thinking of the scene if Armageddon where one of them is trying to decide how scared/excited he is about going into space.

That's me... Bit of an early one!
Really looking forward to it.

My pro has got the hump with me as I've been cut 5 shots since I qualified. Hopefully I can still come in on a few holes!

I bet he's not happy, he'll be even more unhappy if you lose by one shot.

Hope to catch up with you at some point tomorrow mate.
Have a great game.

I'm playing in the ping one next week. Sounds stupid but how are they typically scored and do you all tee off from the back, back, back tee's. The centurion looks stupid long off the pro's tee's

Normally ( well the ones I play in )

Are the two best net scores on each hole from the four players ( the three Am's plus the pro )

So if you have two net birdies on each hole you have a total of 36 under for example

And yes the Centurion is long of the backs but didn't feel long when I played it

We are playing in pairs tomorrow so it's best 1 from 2. According to the info we are off the championship tees, just under 7000 yards and par 71.

Have a great game Andy, maybe see you later on.

the length was the least of my worries, its the trees on the left and the right you want to worry about ;)

So, in theory the pro could not score on one hole if his amateurs are on fire?

Nice gentle 490 yard par 4 to start with, trees either side, bunkers right of the fairway to a 2 tier and well bunkered green, usually plays into the prevailing wind. Only gets tougher from there too!

Your such a ray of sunshine! 490!!!!!! Blumin hell
