Got the final of my Winter Singles knockout this afternoon.

Last week was maintenance week so god knows what sort of state the greens will be in?? Got to give 8 shots away but it is blowing a gale so, hopefully, that will work in my favour.

This is the only club knockout comp I haven't been able to win so far so it was one of my season goals. Fingers crossed, will report back later.

Finished in near darkness through a hale storm and then go and lose it on the 22nd hole where I was back to giving a shot away.

Never mind Winter will be here soon so I can try again!!

Unlucky mate! I've always hated the way you have to give shots away second time round. I know CONGU complicates it with ensuring where low indexes are placed, but it's amazing how often it still comes into play!

I understand your feelings, Robobum. It happened to me once when we got to the SIXTH extra hole. He was a decent player, we both parred and I was out! Not fair if you ask me.

Been there and done it too!
Played years ago in a knockout and had to eagle a par 5 to stay in the match on the 20th, only to lose to a nett 1 on the next par 3!!

Take the confidence getting this far has given you and use the sun on your back to win a few events and get your handicap down. I wouldn't lose too much sleep over it as you had to go into extra time to be beaten.
