We had our first mixed greensomes today. 18 full greens, sunshine, slight breeze - perfect conditions.
Wow - 1 under par 24 points on the first nine and 2 two's :)then the rot set in, 4 putted the 13th and I played c**p the second nine- 16 points . Worst part was prize giving we lost on countback to 1st, 2nd and 3rd !all on 40 points. But we did get a dozen balls for the twos.

It was brilliant to be back on the course.

Well played onthe 2's and bad luck on losing out on the main prize. I was up at my club today practicing and we are back on full greens so it may be that spring is finally just around the corner.

Nice to be back on the greens.

Well done. 40 Pts is good golf.

We had 15 greens on today, 2 temps were inexplicable, and one is still under 4" of snow. Grass is dead, green will take months to recover.

Would you have seriously been able to walk into the club house if you'd scored 24 on the back nine as well?

It's still great golf wacky, and well done for the two's.

Wow well done on the front 9, great shooting. Always hard to keep it going through 18.

I was 5 over the front last week, heavens opened and the card exploded. Grrr. Maybe today!

Imurg - I am a great believer in the score you get was the one you deserved. I think the only realistic improvement could have been 2 putts instead of the 4 putts. I would have been really happy with 18 points.

Twiregolf- 24 points on the back nine would have been great golf, greensomes here is always really high scoring usually 45 points ,although yesterday caught everybody out. 48 points might be a bit OTT !

Daughters half term this week so only one game booked. Makes me realise that yesterday was a great day, even though we did not make the prizes.

Vicky,
Sounds as if you need a bit of help in your putting or was it just a one-off?
Shame you're so far away.
Do you have a video camera?

Hi Bobmac

Well I am usually pretty good at putting but my partner and I just really messed it up. Unfortunately I do not have a video but just talked to my daughter and she can record me on her phone. Hopefully I will get organised and video my swing to see what you think. It will be interesting to see my swing.

Kids and technology huh :D
Have you never seen your swing before? Dont be disappointed if its not how you imagined.
If it got you down to 5, it must be working for you.
I look forward to seeing it :)

Well HNJ

As your sig says if it doesn't reach the hole it won't go in is exactly what we did! My partner had a 30 footer first putt , stuck me 8ft past I decided we needed in and went for it, 3ft past and he missed it, the good thing was we both laughed at it as we were both as bad as each other!

The green was tricky but as our course was designed by the Augusta National architect Alistair Mackenzie I always respect them as they can bite you in the backside when you are not paying attention.
