Good luck SB. we have a stableford today, 1st tee at 8am. Forecast is for a dry, sunny day with temp reaching 9' and little wind, sounds good doesn't it. Except the damn greens are currently closed as they are frozen

They are reviewing at 8 so hopefully they will open them as if the 1st group plays on even a few temps, it means we all have to which will be annoying at 930 when I go out and everything is fine.

Cracking weather, swing during warmup was great, couldn't hit a thing wrong.

Got onto the first tee and totally forgot all my last 3 months of practice... Throw in the effect of playing on dried out greens with no grass and my recent wedge change and I couldn't keep anything on the green for the first 5 holes. Thankfully it all started to come together and I salvaged a nice back 9 of 44 including an 8 (stuck in a wood) but the damage was done, total 95.

Throw in some hard work, getting used to my new wedges and put some grass on the greens and things look rosy!

34pts for me, took a bit of time to get going and missed a few makeable putts front nine to turn with 15pts but started the back nine birdie, bogey (3 putt ), par, par, par, birdie and then threw in my worst drive of the day on 16 OB and blobbed. Par on 17 and then took 5 to get down from 72yds on 18 to finish with a double. Should make the buffer for the first time this year though and it was very good for the most part so plenty to be happy about.

35 points for me, but three putted 16 and 17. Also lost two balls, including one in the pond at the first. Haven't been in there for about two years. Managed a two and lipped out for two others. Still will hopefully win a few bob. Course was running, greens were quick, and it was almost impossible to get a putt dead. I hate three footers on quick greens.:(

Got to the club this morning thinking it was the first Stableford of the year. How wrong was I.
First medal of the year, first time of the year we are off the back sticks (blues) and then the first full weekend we are not on fairway mats and tee boxes.

Went out guns blazing and making the turn -1 gross!! Incredible easy golf. Tee shot, fairway, green then a couple of putts. Easy golf..... I finished on 9 over after a horror of a back 9 with only 1 par. I'm currently very angry with myself. I expected a couple of dropped shots but 10 dropped shots after an unreal front 9. FML!

Ahh SB it is first blood to me - twas our first medal too, course played brutally long with fast lumpy greens and despite 3 missed tiddlers I nudged in an 86 which with a CSS of 74 might mean a little cut...... when I left the club only 1 player had beat handicap and 1 player (mini Scadge) had hit handicap out of nearly 90 entrants ! Tough track today

Competition was cancelled today as it's the first day the course has been open since the most recent snow.

Meant I could get out early and get another card done for my handicap - should give me 18 which was my aim for the season.

If I can get another done before next Sunday might be playing in the first medal of the season too.

Missed out in the stableford but in a club match tomorrow. Hitting it like a muppet on the range last night and this morning after hitting it like a dream on Tuesday. Think I know the cause but can't seem to stop doing it. I'm stupid

Nett 71 for me with a css of 72. Greens were shocking, 3 putted at least 5 times. Surprised we were so far back off the whites with the course already playing long. Hit a fair amount of GIR but the greens cost me dearly.
