Received a block of 5 half-hour lessons for my birthday, and had my first one last night, and it went so well. Been playing about 2 years, and only had 1 proper lesson, so thought lessons would be a good idea for my birthday. Wasn't expecting much from the first lesson, but man, the small changes we made have made such a difference. Basically, I was breaking my wrist pretty much as soon as I took the club back. Once he'd given me an exaggerated 'feel' of what I should be doing, I had a couple of practise swings, and then hit 2 high, straight perfect irons straight at the flag. Felt amazing. I rarely get that sort of ball flight. I'm used to a much lower, drawing (sometimes duck-hooking) flight, so seeing the ball flying into the air straight at the target was incredible. Have 2 weeks before the next lesson, but have something I really need to work on now, and the incentive to working on it is massive, as I'd love to hit irons like that consistently.

Why did I not take the plunge and get lessons earlier?

Good points chaps, I have seen the error of my ways. I'll cancel my lessons, and order a new Titleist 915 Driver instead. The lessons are £99, the driver is £350. More expensive = more useful. Right?

You have seen the light! Don't forget mine and Paddy's fee though for showing you the error of your ways. We accept cash and paypal.

Had my 4th lesson yesterday evening, and I cannot explain what a difference it has made to my swing, and consistency. Don't get me wrong, there is still a lonnnnnng way to go, but I could not recommend lessons highly enough for anyone who wants to seriously improve.

Big advocate of lessons. As someone for whom golf has never come easy, I need regular checks as the gremlins and bad habits creep back with alarming regularity if I'm not vigilant and diligent on what I work on
