First Golf Game on Friday

Well chaps i've got my gear, had some lessons, so now on Friday i'm playing my first game, i'll not be touching the driver so lets see what happens.....

Balls to that, get the big fella out and give it a smash. It's your first time out so just grip it and rip it and have fun.

You'll have years and years of wrapping yourself up in knots with too many thoughts about what you should be doing. At least get one fun round in first!!

Enjoy. Don't get too wrapped up in the things you learned from the lesson but trust what you've been taught and swing with freedom. Don't worry if it all goes wrong as the only way will be up. Keep an eye out for those behind and let them through if you are struggling. Other than that get out there and have fun

Good luck and let us know how it goes. Can still remember my first round even though I was only a kid and it was 40 years ago.

Once you've played a few holes I'd say have a go with the driver. Nowadays they aren't that hard to hit, not like the old wooden ones. Tee it up and swing easy.

Most of all enjoy youself.

Take a few balls with you, then a few more.

Just keep your eye on the ball, whether it goes 5 yards or 205 yards. Once the ball has finished, then you can look at the ground or your club.

Most of all enjoy yourself.

Have fun, and remember you're just starting out so don't get down if it doesn't go to plan.

Give your driver a rip too, it's got a nice big head to make life easier than a 3 wood.

Like everyone else has said above, get the driver out and give a whack, theres no better feeling when you hit a nice drive straight down the fairway, not that i get that feeling very often!

If you do get so wound up you throw a club, throw it ahead of you.
It saves time not having to walk back to pick it up.

Don't just throw a club, throw another provisional one in case you don't find the first one - it saves the embarrassing walk back to where you threw from, to throw your next one!

so i'll not be touching the driver so lets see what happens.....

I only started playing last year myself and weirdly my Driver is the only club I'm confident will go straight'ish of the tee, started using it as soon as i had brought it after xmas this year, nothing better for the start of a round getting a nice drive off the tee

Have fun and dont try to hit it, my problem when playing is I look down the fairway and think, crikey thats a long way best give it some, and then --- slice a rama

know how you feel mate i was like that when i took up golf 6 months ago would not touch the woods but then i had a go not very good must of took me 3/4 rounds before i was hitting them not strait all the time but were going up in the air just stick with it and it will come to you
