This is what I've been waiting for!
Off to sunny? Scotland in the morning. Overnighting in The Lake District before heading off to Glencoe for the week.
I aim to be playing my first game in over 8 months on Tuesday at Traigh Golf Club, which looks awesome.
It fills me with trepidation as it will be the first time I've tested my shoulder since surgery last year!
Maybe it'll help cure my violent overswing.
Oh, and I'm driving up in this,

Wish me luck ......................... on both counts!

Hope the old crock is water proof if you are visiting the Lake District.

All the best with the golf. Just swing nice and smoothly (for at least a couple of holes) !!!

I played Traigh last year, great experience, enjoy it!

Beware the OB on the right on the second hole if you're going direct at the hole rather than round the dog-leg.
(Hope I've not put negative thoughts in your head!)

Check out my sig.. Maybe I'll have to adjust the 15,798 swing thoughts to 15,799!
Swing Thought 15,799 : OB down the right of the 2nd ....................... don't go there.

= Bye bye ball!

Good luck with the shoulder, don't expect too much from it, have a good game and enjoy the drive in the Landie!

It's not too much of a danger, just that I wasn't aware of it first time round as it's a "within the course OB" and I was pretty pissed off when I found out as I thought I'd just had a good front 9....

Just got back from Scotland today .................... well ...................... what can I say?
The Landrover Wolf was utterly magnificent, a joy to drive.
My golf was utterly abhorent, a joy to play against!
Seriously though, I know I've been away from golf for eight months, but come on, this was awful.
Track one was a place called Dragon's Tooth. Fabulous 9 hole course with beautiful views. it was in good nick but the greens were very slow. I played awful golf, pulling everything & three jabbing most greens!
Then we played Traigh Golf Course, just outside Arisaig, on the west coast. Probably the most beautiful setting of any course I've ever played, with stunning views of the three islands of Muck, Eigg & Rum. The course was wierd though! Blind tee shots, invisible fairways, tardy greens & even hidden greens! Now, it's a long time since I've ever taken 12 shots on a hole, but I had a five hole stretch where I went 12, 3, 12, 4, 10! Mind you, the rough was really thick and I was still playing total crap!
Finally we played a course we were recommended not to! Fort William Golf Club.
Without wishing to offend anyone, Fort William, (the town of), is the most depressing & bleak place I've ever been to. However, it is in one of the most beautiful areas I have ever been to.
As for the course .............. well ............ the clubhouse could do with a bit of attention for starters. We were, however, made to feel very welcome and headed of to the 1st in the wind & the drizzle. Started off with a three putt bogey five, not bad i thought, and then lost two balls from the tee of the second ............... I got no better.
Pull, push, chunk, three putt ............ I had the lot.
The course, however, is really good! Plenty of long par fours, a couple of stunning par threes and every club in the bag was used (far too often)!
In essence I loved the golf despite playing like a ****.
Oh, and the Wolf was awesome .................... did I mention that?

P.S. Am I being too impatient or should I have a sneaky lesson? It felt like I'd never played golf before
