First Doubles Match Tomorrow

I have my first double match tomorrow in my clubs 7 day summer doubles.

Got a bye in the first round (we were both buzzing not to get knocked out in the first round)

Any good tips or do not's?

though not an easy task try just to focus on the shot you have in front of you, let go mistakes don't carry them with you don't get into thinking around 'what if's' scorewise for holes to come - stay in the present

pick a definite target for each shot, keep your routine before each shot the same

put a rhythmic balanced swing through the ball - don't try to kill it - best way to do this is to focus on a balanced finish
don't get drawn into trying to hit it further than opponents - play your game, don't try to reproduce you're career best shot

remember to breathe when over the ball - as simple and inconsequential as that may seem to be - it's real important

No such thing in golf, you'll sound like a chav.

is it 4 ball better ball (you play your own ball and the best of your pair counts) or is it foursomes (you play one ball and take alternate drives and shots)

Just hit try and hit good golf shots, simple as that.


Also don't be a moron and lag a 12 footer 3' short when you have 2 for it

OP if the posters knew if your match was 4BBB, Foursomes or Greensomes they would probably be able to better advise you.

There is a world of difference between the three and tactical play generally wins the day.
