Played today. Conditions were pretty good although a few heavy rain showers did threaten to ruin things. Nearly started with a nightmare after pulling my first tee shot and having to play a provisional. Got lucky though and found my first sitting nicely if somewhat short and was happy to walk of with bogey. Double on the second required me to remind myself it was early days and a bogey on the 3rd was a good result after another pulled tee shot. Managed to hold things together though and got a few pars under my belt included the S.I 1 which really helped steady the ship.

Walked of the 18th green knowing I had done well and would be in line for a cut but hadn't really kept a close eye to my score. Ended up shooting a personal best gross 83, Nett 64 for 43 points and finishing with the same ball I teed up on the first which is always a bonus. Just waiting now to see if I hear anything from the club but certainly expecting to be up there. Better yet I should will have achieved a cut to get me down to my target handicap of 18 and if CSS changes in the right direction I may actually drop to 17.

Knew it was coming if i could just hold together for both 9's.

Quiet annoyed at the fourball I overheard in the carpark while I packed away. Discussion was basically as follows.

"Are you putting in your card?"

"Nah, no point because 31 wont get me anything."

"Same here I only had 32."

"What about you"

"Nah, no point I only had 30".

So basically an entire four ball all NRd.

As I become more aware of the handicap system this attitude annoys me more and more and it has the potential to actually result in a CSS that gives me less of a cut than I deserve.

Well played Terry

We have been telling you that your a lot better than you think you are and as you say the problem has been a consistent 18 holes. Just think if you had held it together at my place last time you would have been even lower than you will be after this cut.

Hopefully a wee win to boot as well

Nr'ing is one thing but not returning a signed completed card score regardless should see them banned for the next one. Thats what happens at our place and rightfully so.

Zackerly! I was telling him pretty much the same at Lough Erne (the one you weren't allowed to go to) He played pretty well and again a few mental shots/holes cost him. Anyhoo never mind 18 Bob, tidy yourself up around the greens (and get rid of that stoopid crazy putter ;) )and 15 will be a good target for the rest of the year.

Well done Bob , good shooting mate , cant buy a cut at the min , 38 pts twice, no cut , 35 pts got me a .1

Hope ya win it mate... as for other players as much as it annoys ya, ya may just accept it happens and its outside your control , have a mention of it to the comp or handicap secretary and forget about it then mate

Hope ya get the win mate ..

Kudos... Always good to see someone put in a PB and get a deserved cut for good play...

The 4 ball all not handing in signed completed cards is a disgrace imo...

It was a lot to do with what you were saying at Lough Erne. I just accepted the shots and played with an easy swing playing to my strengths. Putting was good today. 32 putts with one 3 putt. Again a lot to do with what you were saying at lough erne. If it went on the line I choose and at the weight I was hoping then I took it as a good putt even if it did miss by a mile because I knew the read was wrong more so than my stroke.

Not bothered about those guys now. I got myself a win! First win outside of societies. Got a nice new Callaway cart bag.

Congrats on the win Terry

Well done again matey and keep up the good form and you'll be waving to Chris on the way down past him

Nah I wont increase cos you have to play first. Still in my can't be bothered stage.

Well done on the win Bob. I might be better just driving a buggy for you ;);)
