After nearly a year of not being able to play and looking for the most part like Dennis Potter's Singing Detective, thanks to the God I do not believe in and the miracle of Enbrel, I am now back up and around and starting to play golf again.

After 3 rounds and 6 practice sessions my scores were 92-94-97 but on Sunday I finally was able to get my knees to maintain their flex and shot an 86. For the first time I felt as if I was actually playing golf (thinking about where I want to place the ball) as opposed to hit and hope!

Although my joints are still sore it is nothing like they were and I have probably regained about 80% of my mobility. Am going for a lesson this Saturday to work on my swing a little bit and to develop a pre shot routine.

I also need to develop a short high pitch shot from about 20-40 yards as I keep skulling those shots, any thoughts appreciated.

Thanks,

Thanks,

I wouldn't worry about the short pitched skulls and just get back into it slowly. The lesson will help and hopefully the pro will work around your limitations. Either way welcome back to the madness

Excellent stuff - I'm pleased to hear another golf patron is back playing! Keep it up!
In terms of the short 20-40 pitch - keep your height :)
