The Sheep Detectives. Just got back from the cinema with Mrs M and the teenagers. Absolutely great film, light hearted, well written and some great humour throughout with some big names in the cast. Thoroughly recommend it, lots of giggles and some tears from Mrs M as she’s a massive softy. 😂

I watched 1917 last night…an awesome, unsanitised and ‘awful’ reminder of the horrific nature of warfare.

And thankyou to and for the BBC for showing it - as the viewer was able to watch the film as the director Sam Mendes created…in one unbroken shot. We are able to watch and follow the main characters continuously with no break in the tension that ads would introduce.

Sobering and had me reflecting on the experiences of my own grandfather in the WW1 trenches on the Balkan Front and in 1917/18 in France.

ETA..just discovered I can watch a film (1965 Burton film The Spy who came in from the Cold) uninterrupted on Paramount+. With all the ‘ad watch’ before the film…that said I only get Paramount+ through my rather costly Sky subscription.

Will watch the film as I’ve just listened to a radio adaptation of the Le Carre book on BBC iSounds and it was excellent..interested to see how the film compares.

In the mid-80’s when I was 4-7 I loved He-Man. Watched the cartoons, had all the figures, castles, vehicles and lots of other merchandise. They released a movie back then and I remember hating it. Just seen an advert for a reimagined version, that comes out next week. Persuaded/bribed my daughter to come and watch it with me - at least then I can get away with being in attendance.

Last night I watched

Tim Travers and the Time Traveler's Paradox (prime)

One of those films that keeps you watching just to see what happens next. Not a great film but neither a bad film with some very funny scenes.

Definitely one for those who sometimes like to watch something quirky.
