Myslf and Jan (Teegirl) are going to the Kingdom for the Open week and stying with my sister near Glenrothes.
We're looking for a game on the Tuesday or Thursday.
Balbirnie looks interesting. Has anyone played it or any other suggestions.
NOT Ladybank. They've hiked their green fees to £60 for the open week

Bob
if you and Jan can get your chuffers down to Scotscraig, I highly recommend playing there.
One of my all time favourites and I'd love to go back and play it again sometime
Trust me. I'm never wrong
;)

Bob,

I was a member at Balbirnie a few years back. A lovely parkland course set in mature grounds and a decent challenge. It's a bit hilly in parts.

I agree with Smiffy on Scotscraig, had the pleasure of playing there earlier this year. The course was in superb condition and the green were just awesome. Stevek1969 was a terrific host and is really lucky being a member there.

If you fancy at Aberdour when you are up give me a shout. I am working but could try and get a couple of hours off for an afternoon game.

Thanks Alan, I might very well take you up on that offer.
Can you organise a still, warm day? :D

Another nice course around that way Bob is Alyth. I am not sure how far away you will be from there but it's another course I would love to go back and play.
Very, very tranquil and some lovely holes on there, and it wasn't too expensive if I remember correctly.
Or if you fancy a proper links course you could do a lot worse than Montrose Medal. Had a great day there. A couple of odd holes on the back 9 (feel like you are out on a football field) but other than that....cracking.
;)

balbirnie is nice, or you could travel and play charlestown/leven/largo, only 20 mins tops travel.
alternatively you could come and play my place....id be happy to sign you on

Thanks for the offer Rab.
It's looking like Balbirnie and Aberdour with the Open on the Wednesday.
Algar, which day (Tues or Thur) would be best for you?

That's not nice, surely her house isn't THAT messy?

No but her estate is a bit of a swine to get to, and when you do get there her house is a pig to find

I know, I made a right pigs ear of that post. It may have been down to this infection in my eye.
 ;)

I'm away that week on holiday but my local at Elmwood is 10mins away, good food too. give me a shout if you want to book.

Sorry Bob ,have to much on that week or you could have played Scotscraig with me.Enjoy the courses you play, try Lundin Links or Leven ,great courses.

Take the man out of Fife, but you'll never take Fife out of the man! Typical fly Fifer, looking for a freebie!
