Fiction books not written by the titled author...

Been looking to upload some new books, searching by favourite authors.

John Grisham book, written by....
Wilbur Smith book, written by...
Tom Clancy book, written by...
Robert Ludlum book written by...

Having read the reviews of these ghost written books its pretty clear they're dross riding on the back of a famous author.

Why?

It's "in the style of". Basically production line stuff that the author has got bored of but the publisher knows there is a market for. I'm fairly sure I got caught on a Jason Bourne book in this fashion. You buy it assuming it is in the series but you don't realise it has been ghost written. Once caught, never again.

Kyle Mills, who has written a few Tom Clancy books is now writing the Vince Flynn books in the Mitch Rapp series. People say they are different, but I still like the new ones.

There are also books were a that are credited as being written by a well known author and an relative unknown, I assume one has done the plot and the other fleshes it out, but I could be wrong.

Why?

With the exception of Dick Francis books, most of which were written by his missus.
