So I had my first lesson of my winter season sessions yesterday. First full length lesson with a Pro I've had. Had a complete grip change and a slight tweak on my backswing.

Now hitting balls straight 90% of the time and added quite a sweet consistent ball flight.

I've been feeling very low about scores lately (after hitting a 95 started hitting 100-120). Playing 18 tomorrow and hoping the new development carries over to the course!

Just be careful and don't have over expectations - the lessons and changes will possibly take a lot of practise and time to take shape

I too had my first lesson last night and like your self had gip change and back swing change!I also was hitting better....my only problem is that I feel I now grip the club better without a glove. Has anyone else experience this?

After to speaking to a few golfing friends it seems the first thing a lot of newer players get wrong (grip & back swing path). Never tried without a glove though tbh.

I always try and have several range sessions after a lesson before hitting the course to make the changes feel more natural. I hope it goes well for you. Don't have too many expectations and don't be tempted to go back to old ways if it goes wrong. Play well

Who did you have your lesson with?

I too had a lesson tonight. I have now shanked about 80 balls in a row. Apparently this is good. I'm guessing I need to cancel this weekend's comp. Looks great on the video though!

I love lessons. You only get out what you put in though!

This is so true.

Like you Murph, I initially struggled with the changes and caught a dose of the Sherman's. Work through and it starts to come good. The results from my lessons earlier in the year took about 3 months to feel natural and show reward.

I started my winter work last Thursday. So far, so good

So played 27 holes today.

My most recent rounds before today were 126 and 119. (Shocking I know). In the first 18 I shot 110. Was not a very good front 9 but a very good back 9 although lost my way on the 18th with an 11! Making my back 9 what I was hoping to be a nice 46 a 54. however is a 9 shot improvement on my most recent round.

I then hen had a bite to eat and headed back out for another shot on the back 9 with another member. I managed to get round in 51. Although it's only a 3 shot difference to the back 9 the first time round it felt a much better round and had a few bunkers to contend with that took 2 or 3 shots to get out of. (So will have to be slightly better at getting out or just avoid them in future!)

So at the moment things are on the up. Heading down the range tomorrow then out for another 9 to try and solidify the groove!
