I play in a lot of matches for the club in leagues and knockouts and today I lost my match, after being unbeaten in singles for nearly 2 years, around 20 matches. Worst was that the team lost 4-3, I feel really down about it and feel that I let the team down, it was in a knockout too so we are out.

I probably should just get over it but its really got me down.

Unlucky - that's a great run but it's certainly not your fault that the team lost.

Get thyself into the corner with the whipping stick Lou.. This is no place for people who lose 1 game in 2 years.. This forum is for winners........ Sorry, I meant whiners........ ;):D

Get yourself a magic 7 iron that goes 250 yards "PLUS"

Jesus, chill out! So you lost a match? Walk it off and come back better

If these are handicap matches, and the handicaps are correct (as all should be!) and hence each player had a 50:50 chance of winning, then winning 20 games in a row is just over 1 million to 1. So either your handicap has been very wrong or your amazingly purple patch has regressed slightly towards the statistical expectation!!!!

Feeling dejected? think about the 20 opponents that played you before asIm guessing they had more grounds to be so

yes I know its daft, I guess I thought I was invincible and its a shock to realise that I am not.
Sorry, but you please tell me you are joking. You can play brilliantly at matchplay and lose, and play rubbish and win. That's the way the game goes. Sometimes it is a lottery, and certainly not worth any recriminations.

Louisa.

The wag who suggested that golf isn't a matter of life or death - it's far more important than that, lied.

I didn't give my invincibility a thought until my doctor brought me down to earth and I realised that I was mortal after all. Losing a game of golf? Please get things into perspective.

I stand by my sig

Sorry to hear your winning run come to an end but you will soon get back on track! Have a little chuckle to yourself knowing that in 2 years of playing golf I have lost every single one of match play games!

nobody will play with me now I am that bobbins :(

I think your taking golf too seriously Lou , its good that it matters , but it shouldnt matter that much , look on bright side its done now and u cant lose for the first time anymore .. feel down for a couple of hours and forget it ..

So let me understand this. You lost one out of nearly 20 matches and you need a big hug?

Yes, you should just get over it.
