So I got caught speeding, 38mph in a 30 zone, bastardo's

took em exactly 5 days to send me the bugger. I am assuming its 3 points and a 60 quid fine. In all the time driving I have never been caught (I do tip over the limit now and again), all because I was on my way to the missus' on a promise, she rang me and I quickly flipped to loudspeaker then realised.

A prostitute would have been cheaper that night grrrr

whats the score with the speed awareness thingy option on the paperwork? Does that mean I get off with it if I go on a wee jolly or is it just one of their government must do sort of things?

if you take the speed awarenes option you have to attend a meeting group for the day which i think costs £60 then you are let off with the points but if you get caught sppeding again within the next year or 2 you get 3 points for that and then the 3 you should have got this time

Not to sure, But i think the Speed awareness thing is a course you go on for a day or 2 days or so and you have to pay out your own pocket and you dont get a fine or points.

Im not 100% sure tho.

An Instructor I know runs one of these Speed Awareness courses down here.
He gets loads of Boy-Racers coming through, just thinking they have to turn up, laze about all day, watch a few videos and get off the points. You have to convince the Guy in charge that you actually understand what they're going on about and if you don't you'll still get the points.

Well I guess this is payback. Moral here is don't speed.

The awareness courses last 4 hours and cost £84. You wont get points on your licence if you attend one. They are usually available most days and even in the evenings too.

I know this cos my missus went on one a couple of weeks ago ;)

I can understand speeding on a main road( we all do it) but in a 30 you deserve all you get pal. knock a kid over and he's dead at that speed so the only "bastardo" is you to be frank.

its not a side road its actually a dual carriageway between Luton and Dunstable, there are pedestrian crossings and traffic lights at junctions, tbh I dont know why its a 30 zone, but it is. My bad for forgetting the road changed to a 30 zone after the roundabout.

I have kids and never speed in urban area's in fact if anything I always slow down a bit more as my son was hit by a car a few years ago, also hence why even though I drive daily for a living I have never had any points for anything not even a parking ticket!

so to say that is posting without knowing me or the road I was on so just thought I would point that out OK!!!
