Ahead of my holiday coming up it got me thinking about how many little places i've travelled to. I went away twice last year and have caught the bug for travelling and I am planning ahead of places to go.

Just wondering what your favourite places are you've travelled to and some of your least favourites. I'll start the list:

Favourite : Orlando

Least Favourite: Venice

I've been lucky enough to visit quite a few places on our little planet, having done some travelling round Europe and the like...Not many places that I've really disliked, but I'll try and single some out.

My favourite places;

Seattle
Munich
Berlin
Melbourne
Northern Queensland in Australia
(To be fair "Australia" in general would be a decent shout. Loved it top to bottom)
Rome
Brugges
Cinque Terra

Least Favourite;
Bordeaux
Venice (not a bad place, but my least favourite places of everywhere I've been in Italy)
Dubai (the airport alone puts me off going there again)

Some great places there, thinking of travelling America with the other half when she finishes uni.

Not sure what it was about Venice I didn't like, it was just meh.

Yea, I felt the same. The best part about it was the camp site we were staying at and the people we were with (and the awesome crepe stand we stumbled across).

Florence, Rome, Sienna, Lake Garda and the aforementioned Cinque Terra are all MUCH nicer.

America is great if you go to the right places. The Pacific Coast Highway and the drive through Oregon and up through Washington is STUNNING. Washington State has some right hidden gems too. My favourite place in the whole world.

Seen a lot of the USA that I like; New York, Boston, Chicago, Washington (great museums and they know how to do a monument!) and this year's music trail of Nashville, Memphis & New Orleans I could do again tomorrow. Can also thoroughly recommend Bermuda, and loved what I've seen of Canada, particularly Calgary (the Stampede is amazing), Banff, the Rocky Mountaineer and Vancouver. Loved the flying visit to Munich as well, must go back & see more of it!! :D

As for least favourite, I wouldn't rush back to Philadelphia………...

we're a bit inbetween of what we would like to do in America.

Originally we were looking at Route 66 but way too much driving for that amount of money, looked at west coast and recently looked at doing Florida for 3 weeks, throwing in Miami, Orlando and somewhere relaxing for a week!

Vancouver is a good shout - only spent a day there, but a great city.

Whistler is AMAZING in the Summer, so I can only imagine what it's like during Ski Season.

Few places I missed:

Jamaica - great place for a holiday and game of golf or 6. The White Witch is the hardest golf course you'll ever play.

Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland - Only visited in the summer, but an absolutely amazing part of the world. The train ride up to the top of Jungfrau is one for the bucket list.

Hinterglemm/Saalbach, Austria - I love Austria in general (both Vienna and Salzburg are great), but this is one of my favourite places to ski as it's a massive resort. Some great views on a sunny day. Andorra has a lot to live up to this year.

I URGE you to do the West Coast - particularly Washington State and Oregon - you'll see stuff there you won't get by going to Florida. And if you go in the summer, you'll get absolutely stunning weather (don't believe everything you see on Fraiser ;) )..then do a week "relaxing" in California somewhere...Florida is old hat!

Honestly don't know if we'll go that far North

I personally want to do San Diego, San Fran, Vegas and LA but gotta price it up!

Would love to go back to NZ. Went there in their winter for a Lions tour, so would be nice to go back there when it's warmer.
Work in North Carolina and always said I'd go back to the outer banks for a holiday.
Closer to home Santorini, stunning.

Bad - Any holiday resort with a 'strip'. Too old now 😥

I have a good friend that lives in NC - his Dad's English & mum is American, opted to move over there once we finished Uni.

He plays at a club called Carolina Trace and it's truly spectacular.

Really loved Cape Town and the Cape Region.

Lots of Brits go to Orlando, which I didn't care much for, but we drove 90 mins north of there to Ponte Vedra and played Sawgrass..which was good, but the Town of Ponte Vedra and nearby St Augustine were wonderful!

Hong Kong is nutty, but great...

Worked in Paris for 2 years...don't like it. Busy, expensive and messy. Went to Malta in 1987...never been back! (clue!) Next place that came to mind is Blackpool...yuk! :-)

Fair enough, your loss! ;)

My cousin lives in LA. Hates it - but he works as a Golf Pro at a private golf club, so the money is good. I need to do Vegas, STAT.

My (other) cousin lives in Charleston...Hoping to get over there to visit as soon as possible, looks amazing.

(for completeness, I have another cousin in Philly as well!)

Favourites - New York, Reykjavik, Sydney, Maldives. Also been lucky to see some amazing places through work such as Tokyo, Beijing and Boulder, Colorado. Which were all amazing but not technically a holiday.

Least - None overly as I've enjoyed every holiday I've been on. I suppose I hated the driving when we did the Amalfi Coast, completely stressed me out. However the places we stayed in once we had navigated the roads were lovely.

Glasgow, Tiree, Dunkeld - just about only places I have been more than once. That said Tiree and Dunkeld would probably be in my favourite places anywhere.

Favourite

New Zealand , The Mainland .
Crans Montana
Bellagio
Lake Garda
Dinard
France
