My Mate CVG seems to really like our 7th green
It's about 30 yards long, 15 or so wide and angled left from the fairway - and it's uphill.
So recently the flag has been in the back portion at the top of the slope - not a fast putt!
Mostly, CVG's approach finishes at the bottom of the slope leaving him about a 30-40 footer.
More often than not he either nails it or it lips or just misses.
Everywhere else on the greens he's pretty average but on the 7th he's a God!

Do you have a favourite green?

All of ours stink at the moment as far as I'm concerned - although I sunk a 20 footer on the 7th today.....

The par 3 2nd for me. In one corner there's a slight break downhill but for the most part it's nice and flat. It's sunken from the fairway too in case you land just short, as I did tonight due to some keen wind, but then putted with a 6 iron down the slope and in for my first birdie 2!

I always look forward to the 11th at strabane. a huge 3 tier green. you have to play it to believe it.

the next time I am on the lower tier and have to play to the top im getting a wedge out. lol

Good thread.

I have a lot of unfavourite greens! :(. I acknowledge however that from a golf point of view they are excellent with subtle borrows, humps, hollows and cambers that can make reading a long putt really tricky.

However for a favourite, I would go for our 16th. It is elongated, slightly elevated and slopes off sharply both sides but on top it is pretty flat and it always seems to roll very true. Always feel I have a chance of holing something on there.

My favourite green to play is our third, bowl shaped sitting amongst the dunes, any approach shot roughly in the right area normally ends up in on the heart of it.

The second has a great green but difficult, a false front, 2 tiered, 3 pot bunkers to the left , a steep cutaway slope to the right, and back, closely followed by the rough. Basically you have land the approach in the meet of it or else your looking at a testing chip, not easy considering its a 400 yard long hole with a very undulating fairway.

There are some nice pics of it in my link below
