Following on from the 1st hole thread, this one will be interesting. espeically as it seems people didn't like a hard hole to start.

I will start with the 18th on the East Course @ Saunton, personally i think 1 and 18 are two amazing holes.

St Mellion, Goodwood and Blackmoor are also right up there for me.

finishing holes i don't think are that great are Woodhall Spa, Hankley and Camberley Heath.

Is that Woodhall Spa 18th as a par 4 or as a par 5 you don't like?

I think as a par 5 its a great finishing hole

Moray Old 18th is a cracker to finish.
Notts (Hollinwell)
Alwoodley
Moortown with the clubhouse so close to the green makes you twitch a bit.
West Hill is a brute
Blackmoor is a stunning finish

I rather like our 18th, it can be a card killer, but that aside the last at Hillside isn't bad.

The most disappointing 18th is the last at Vilamoura Old Course, at least off the red tees. On a great course it is a very bland flat featureless fairly short par 4

I cannot believe I forgot Notts!

you are correct, brilliant finishing hole!

I played it off the yellows, so would have been a par 4. I can absolutely see it would be good as a par 5.

Such an amazing course though!
Next time your up this way come and play it off the back tees and see how its a totally different hole. Its a card wrecker from the championship tee.

Is that hoylake the normal way round? I played it with the par 5 as a finish, so i am assuming you're talking about the 2nd (when i played it).

The par 5 is the normal way from what I can remember

18th at Carnoustie is a good hole. Like the last at Dundonald too, good strategic hole with the burn snaking in front and around the side of the green.

Last at Boat is a tough cookie.
