Purchased the above model in May 2009. Shortly after had a niggling problem of the display misting up(all weathers)Pro at my course is a service agent and he replaced display screen(free of charge. Then in November the axle broke whilst out on the course. Pro again fixed it and later that month stopped using due to trolley ban on course over winter. Started using it again about 3 weeks ago, used 3 - 4 rounds, again the display has started misting up, and to top it all today whilst playing a match at another course the ******* thing broke again whilst half way round. Had to push the ****** round a very hilly course.
This time it appears that the gearbox has gone as there is a loud crunching noise and no power to the wheels.

Looking for opinions on my position re consumer rights etc

Anyone think I am entitled to a full refund or Brand new replacement.

cheers :( :(

I've had mine for a while now and so far:

I've had the screen done and it still mists up.
I've had the speed control modified and I still have to either dawdle or run.
I've also had it sent back because the rubber on the buttons split.
It's making a funny noise too.

I don't really consider it to be money well spent.

I had an issue with some irons recently, the gist of what trading standards told me is that I had to give the retailer a chance to repair them, and if they failed again I could push for a refund.

I would say you're in a strong position for a new trolley, give trading standards a call on 08454 04 05 06, they were really helpful with me

Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah!

Stop throwing clubs at your trolley and it wont break then!

How I'd love to have been present to see you push that thing round the course! I may even have had a little chuckle!

I'd bin the thing and get yourself a Motocaddie and join all the kool kidz!

I'd send a letter listing the faults and asking for a complete refund.

Make sure you get the name of the person you are dealing with, their bosses name, and the full procedure of how to escalate the claim if you don't feel that your claim is being taken seriously. Having an individual taking responsibility, rather than a faceless department, is the first step. If the individual claims not to have the authority to satisfy your complaint fully then don't waste time with them, insist on talking/dealing with someone who has as much authority as you need.

If they talk about further repairs I'd make it a part of the agreement that if it performs less than perfectly for a full 12 months after the repairs then they will offer a full refund immediately.

If they then start quibbling I'd talk about the small claims court and sending copies of all correspondence to Which, GMTV, every comsumer programme, magazine, etc etc.

Be nice in all your letters, but make it clear that you are going to get satisfaction. If you give them any hint that you can't be bothered to go all the way they may call your bluff. If they understand that you're not a busy person and you have nothing better to fill up your free time other than making their life hell, they are more likely to fold.

I'd also swear very heavily ( or talk nicely about your frustration and disappointment) at your pro for letting the club and it's members down by offering you such a crap product in the first place.

I purchased one last year and had nothing but problems and aventually my pro replaced it.

Seem to think there is a 2 year guarantee and whilst I registered with Powekaddy, think Michelle was dealing with the registration, their service was poor.

However I am certain they will sort it out as they need to try and uphold their reputation, try being the relevant word!!
