If, like me, you have the wife & kids & a passion for all things golf, do you tend to get golf related gifts at all occasions?

Birthday, Xmas, Anniversaries, Father's day (& mother's day for the lady golfers)

Are there "standard" gifts you always get? Balls, T-shirts etc?

Maybe they are not golf related...

I tend to get asked if there is anything I need/want & if not the HID goes out & always does well on the present buying.

Occasionally I drop a subtle hint....

I'm a fussy so in so well ok a label snob on my golf gear HID realises that now and if I'm getting any golf gear it'll be similar to what's in the bag after she's had a mooch to check labels etc.

I'll get asked what I would like, going to chance my arm this year with a Scotty Cameron putter  There's nowt I need so a card and cuddle from the bairn will be more than enough.

I'm not fussed about brand name (as per my thread last week I don't get a lot of choice)...and now I have all too keep me going (bday is St. Georges day so stocked up then)

Yeah just a nice day with the family is always a good shout! Between work & school & the mrs back at uni etc we don't get a lot of time together.

Im not a great receiver of presents , i dont like people buying me things , might sound strange but ..

June 21 is also my birthday & we will be in Eurodisney all being good this year .. happppppppy days

Father's Day is an American commercial confection of absolutely no real meaning - if I get a card then that is nice - but my teenagers say thankyou a fair bit so I don't expect one, and I certainly don't look for any gifts.

This is my stance along with valentines day. However HID insists on it. Cards, presents, flowers etc etc. I have tried to fight it the last few years but she doesn't let up.

So now, rather than fight it, I go with the flow. It's all about the quiet life....

:) That's the problem with lassies - they seem to so much like buying stuff for their closest girlie friends - no matter the occasion - they mistake us for one of these friends :) We blokes...when did you last buy a mate a wee pressie - just cos he's your mate. And do you know their birthdays? Of course you don't - but your OH has all her mates b/days and other special days in her diary.

When they were best men for my wedding last year. Other than that, never have!

away from the original question, last year I treated my dad to a round of golf at Hunstanton Golf Course this year we'll be visiting Royal Cromer where I'll be paying the green fee regardless of the result

Its always amusing that every time there is some celebration etc you get "commercialised dross etc etc blah blah "

That's just being miserable - my and the wife are happy to partake in the card giving and present sharing for them all - just a few tokens of appreciation and love for wife and family members alongside the every day stuff.
