I'm thinking of investing in one... what make and styles are people using and how are you finding them? I'm a streaky putter looking for more consistency (arnt we all!) I'm more inclined to think it could be the breaking of wrists etc that might contribute to that so think a fat grip might help. Input please ladies and gents. :)

how would a fat grip stop you from breaking your wrists?

swing the putter using your arms and shoulders and keep the wrists passive throughout. control speed by controlling the length of your swing. You should never feel like you are hitting the ball when putting.

the only reason to have a fat putter grip, from my understanding, is so you can have both hands side by side in the grip.

good luck with it all

Fat putter grips take your hands out of the putting stroke and stop you flicking at the ball.

I, personally, didn't suffer with this. I found the stock Scotty Cameron Pistolero grip too thin in my hands and wanted a more substantial grip. The 2.0 fits the bill and does the job nicely.

The 2.0 certainly isnt wide enough for me to have my thumbs side by side as you say (Neither is the 3.0 from memory).

using your arms and shoulders to swing the club takes your wrists out of the putting stroke.
You don't need a fat grip to do that, surely. Just don't cock your wrists...

It's not so much cocking the wrist going back, it's more coming into impact during the stroke. Kind of like flipping with an iron but on a lesser scale.

I understand what you mean, and I agree, as I rock my shoulders to putt.

oh, I feel for any golfer that struggles with this - it sounds like that would make putting incredibly difficult!

Another 2 thumbs user here, I have 'the daddy' and its fantastic. Kind of oval ish shaped, so flat front and back, about 1" wide at its biggest. Has helped my putting and still fits in my putter slot on my bag! Got mine from the racecourse mike and was fitted and ready to go ten minutes later for £20....

Unless your a naturally wristy putter, a few 'famous' pro's were quite successful with it.

I like the idea of the SS 2.0 to quietness the wrists

It's quite strange Colin.

When I tried the range before choosing the 2.0, I didn't feel the 2.0 did anything with the wrists. It was just a more comfortble, better fitting grip.

When I tried the 3.0 that semed to tale more of the wrists out. The Fatso and Flatso took too much out of the stroke IMO. Putts felt numb and controlling distance was a lottery.

That was my concern Gareth, just getting a balance between calming my flicky left wrist while retaining 'feel'.

One way to find out I suppose

I tried one last year on my summer scotty. felt great on the putting green... trouble was when i tried to put in my golf bag....

wouldn't fit, so took it off again...:(

Check it fits in the bag first;)

It's just a shame most of the superstroke grip are white. I've seen plenty of then in a right state so haven't bought one and am thinking of a Winn jumbo instead

Hi Kev, Is that Stocksfield golf club you play at? I played in a charity day at Clitheroe last year with a guy who played at Stocksfield
