Following on from the tales of woe regarding taking all day to go round the course, do you ever remember getting finished in double quick time, excluding matchplay where wou may have administered or taken an absolute whooping.

My father and I regularly used to leave Aberdeen at around 5.30pm on a Friday night, drive the hour to Cullen, peg it up around 6.30 and be in the Clubhouse by 8.30. It is a par 63 and it was off the Yellows but always used to think that was pretty good going.

Started a foursomes qualifier at 6:45 in the morning - we were done by 9:30 and both groups had the best rounds of the day.

thats alternate shots with 1 ball per team of 2 right.

Best I've had is 3hrs 3 mins with a 3 ball in club championship, we were first out at 7am, glorious dry day and we all played well, good time even with one of them lining up every single bleedin' putt from every angle:rolleyes: he won it though :mmm:

Yeah alternate shots

Quickest 4 ball I have been in is 3 hours during a midweek medal - first out

I raced to the course a few weeks ago , got there at 1400 next to me was a guy who recognised me cos he had let me thru once , asked if he could join so agreed but said I play speed golf , he said he knew as he had seen me motor off after letting me thru , we finished on the 18th at 15.55
, yep 1hr 55 .18 holes, he was absolutely knackered when we was putting our bags back in the cars

Exactly 2 hrs is my quickest playing alone, would have probably been a lot quicker but I don't exactly move in straight lines :D

Playing on my own.... Under 2 hours comfortably.

I once refereed a ladies county final when they shook hands on the 12 green in under 70 minutes.

I recently upped my walking in preparation for some sections of the coast to coast walk.
Doing 10 miles in just over 2 hours, equates to walking 3 rounds of golf.

I once went out after school, I had 1:30 till dark. I had my clubs in carry bag. I just ran round! 55 minutes it took me!

Played a midweek medal in a two ball in 1hr 45mins some 15 years ago - out at 5.45 - got our backside's kicked for playing before the greenkeepers had done their work - they had planned to move the holes that morning and couldn't because we had played - lots of people played during the day - I finished second and the other guy won - there's benefits for your game on never having to wait for even your playing partner.

We didn't move particularly fast - just didn't mess about at all - none of the 'would you like the flag tended' niceties - we agreed that when both balls were on the green the nearest guy would remove flag etc.

Many years ago myself and a school friend played 18 holes at Sandwell Park in 1 hour and 18 minutes. It was pouring with rain, so no other players on the course to get in our way, and we ran between shots. We were young and very fit teenagers at the time. Doubt that I could do that now in my late sixties! :)
