FAO:North East golfers....recommended

[Garesfield ACE]

Highly recommended golf course me and my mates played yesterday.Whickham a few miles south west of Newcastle.High up on the south of the Tyne side.Quite possibly the best course ive played in this vicinity (and thats saying something for December).

Normal greens in great condition 18 different holes fantastic views great scenerary a lot of wider open fairways..great company lovely clubhouse (free nosh was a bonus as a christening was on ).

Oh and a canny round 4 pars and a tremendous bogey at the SI 1 465 yard par 4 (not being a long hitter ) its my best bogey EVER

played it in county mixed championship scratch for first time this year was very impressed with course
and greens were spot on so was the rest of course infact. they actually have 20 holes change it around in the winter i believe

a nice golf course and one I'm thinking of changing too. I've already sent my nomination form in and waiting for a response. I'm going up to my current club today for a round (Garesfield) but I still haven't decided on which to play in 2012

i think if you join whickham you also get a deal where you can play 3 other courses not 100% about that but thats what they were doing last year

It's my home course so im glad you liked it. The 16th is a monster and I also got a bogey on there this morning. All the proper greens are still on and are in good condition, surprising when most other courses around here are on temps.

There isn't 20 holes but they do change the course in the winter where we lose a couple of holes and gain a few par 3's. The course changes to a par 68.

Not a problem mate. I don't think I'll be back up until Saturday but if u fancy a round through the week let me know. Could kill 2 birds with 1 stone

must admit theres one hole i didnt get think its about 14 or something
iron off the tee to the corner then it turns about 90 degree then hit a wedge

its the hole before the driveable one

14 is a dogleg left but it must be some iron hit as its about 230 to the corner
