Subs - Nigel Martyn, Gary Stevens, Derek Mountfield, Kevin Sheedy, Leon Osman, Andy Gray

4-4-2 I love a strike partnership, I wish they would come back in fashion

Apologies to older Blues who may go for Ball, Kendall, Harvey etc but I did not see any of them play. My team is purely from the time I started watching them.

Good team , I would have had Sheedy ahead of Piennar

I had him to start with but Pienaar and Baines have been so effective down the left that their partnership swung it. I would not argue against the swap though.

Overall Premier League XI from when I started watching:

-------------------Schmeichel----------------------
--Neville------Terry---------Kompany-------Baines---
---------------Gerrard------Lampard---------------
--Beckham---------Bergkamp------------Ronaldo---
----------------------Henry----------------------------

Very tough to choose a team. LB position was difficult, but Baines has been magnificent for years so went for him. Harsh to leave out the likes of Adams, Ferdinand, Vieira, Giggs, Scholes, Shearer, Cantona and Zola, but not easy to pick an XI.

Dan - I'm impressed. You are finally going to be the man who can make Gerrard and Lampard work together. Good luck as I don't remember it working in any of the games they played together for England. Ha ha.

Bolton Wanderers

Jussi Jaaskaleinen

Gudni Bergsson, Paul Jones, Alan Stubbs, Jimmy Phillips

As I support a non-league team I'll give the Prem side a shout. Not bad Dan, but I'm not having Baines over Cole! Also think you've got way too few United players - 13 wins in 23 years, 3 seconds and 3 thirds in 23 years surely has to be reflected a bit better. For me, the tough decisions were Gerrard Vs Viera and Aguero Vs a whole host of other great strikers (Shearer, Drogba, Suarez, RVN and Zola in particular)

Just seen this, good thread!

Liverpool

Manager, kenny

brucie

nicol, hyppia, henchoz, riise

houghton, gerrard, whelan, barnes

fowler, suarez

this was hard, so many to choose from. I could easily pick another 11 and be happy with it.

What does stand out is an absolute lack of a quality of keepers and a left back. Unless I've forgot someone? I couldn't split hyppia and henchoz, fantastic partnership.

Interesting you say that. What was wrong with Clemence as he was also England's keeper too?
