The on-going saga of Blackpool FC has taken a new turn, following the owners suing individual fans, insulting them on Twitter, as well has running the club into the ground, they have now started proceedings against a fans forum.

After first demanding allegedly libellous comments to be removed, they subsequently were, they then asked for personal details of 6 posters who made the comments, contrary to the Data Protection Act, when this was denied, papers were served this week on the owner of the site.

Shame what has happened there as everybody thought they were so we'll run when they came in the premier league and spent all the tv money on infrastructure rather than inflated journeyman wages, now seems the chairman was just taking as much money out the club as he could.

Depends what 'the papers' are for.

If it's to supply names/addresses, then there should be no way they need to provide it. Data Protection Act guarantees that.

However, if it's because the site is party to a(n alleged) libel, then that's a different story! Same as where a newspaper is sued for reporting statements along with the 'party of the first part'!
