Why do some golfers find the need to tell other golfers that they shouldn't use a particular brand. Is it that important to have a particular brand in your bag before you can actually be good at the sport.

I only say this after having a particular golfer inspect the bags outside the club house and give his (unwanted) opinions on peoples choices of clubs etc.

Is golf more about what you've spent on equipment or is it about the game?

He moaned about the nike and the odyssey putter and kept saying I should get titleist. I like titleist, but my bank account doesn't. I did offer for him to buy me some as the pro shop had some stocked but for some reason he declined.

Was he wearing yellow tartan troos, a green sun visor and a purple polo shirt?

In my experience you had a rare sighting of the lesser spotted wazzock... Or perhaps possibly Ian (Poults) Poulter 😃😜

PS If you're not playing Callaway then you ought to give up the game.

sounds like one of life's "knobs" bet he saw your VW car and said you should buy an Audi, or your rump steak but said fillet is better.

I have a "mate" a bit like it, where everything he has or has done is a bit better than yours. we call him Two Sh... "poo's" Because if you have had one, you can bet he has had two.

Yup, generally just a Knob.. They're everywhere at this time of year.. Eventually, when they realize that they're still crap at the game despite spending thousands on new kit, they'll slink back to their 07' BMW and bore everyone in the Pub instead...

Every club has them, ours is called Topper as whatever you have bought, wherever you have been and whatever you have done he can top it.

To the OP my advice would be smile, nod and walk away.

I wonder if he knows which side of the tee to stand on? Maybe you could print out the relevant thread and ask him to read it next time you see him..

I love titleist and the other brands but if I had to have a dream set it would be;

Honma Tour World TW717 460cc Driver 10.5*
Honma Beres IS-03 Irons 5-9
Honma Beres U-03 Hybrid 20*/22*
Honma Beres E-03 FW 16*/19*
Honma W105C Wedges 48*/52*/56*/60*
Valedictorian Putter

And the Honma's would have to be 5 star settings

I wonder how that set would have gone down?

Sounds like the sort of person who I'd turn round to after beating them (hopefully) and say 'phwoarrrr, I could probably have turned pro if I had those XYZ clubs you've got..'

Absolute sprouts.
