I have finally got a set of clubs that i no longer plan to change! AT LAST!

However i play 3w 3-pw so want a fairway to fill the gap!

I have a Callaway BB 3 wood which is lovely off the tee bigger head yet of the deck i dont feel too confident with it!

SO i want a 5 wood - something with a bit smaller head and low profile face... i was looking at the Titleist 909 f2 or the Mizuno MP fairway 5 woods, they are both more of a shot making club and this is something i want!

Yet my problem is the shaft... i play a pro launch blue stiff im my 3w which is perfect for off the tee gets it airbourne, yet in the 5 wood i want something which will generate a lower ball flight and more penetrating...

Any suggestions on either the club or especially the shaft?

I like grafalloy and was considering the standard blue shaft?

What about a hybrid Matty? 17 - 19 degrees with a stiff shaft. Dont /Cant play with a stiff shaft but the aldilla or Graffaloy ones are good. Try superstiff!!

What about a hybrid Matty?

Yeh i do play a 3 iron hybrid at 21* which is perfect on narrow tee shots i love it.. yet off the deck it seems to ballon its a Mizuno CLK FI HI with still stock shaft in (not sure) i wanted to get a 5 wood as iv always liked the fairway woods off the deck... and i think the 3 hybrid loses distance as it seems to go up and up... a few courses i play often have long par 5's one being best part of 620 of the white pots yet... so wanted something to scoot down the fairways a bit longer than the hybrid... and as for my 3 wood... off the deck i can swat it further ;)

PL Blue is high launch, Red is low and Platinum is in between.

The fairway wood will use have a heavier shaft, say 85g compared to 65g in the driver, so that will knock the flight down a bit. The 909f2 is available with Voooo (by Titleist) and Diamana Blue (by Titleist). The Voodoo is a better shaft, and might fit the bill. The MP Titanium has Fubuki by Mizuno. That is a pretty good shaft.

I would try the stock shafts for now. Both woods can be ordered in a range of custom shafts. The UST V2 might be worth looking at.
