Thinking of whisking the wife and boys off for a night or two as Im off work Monday.
Quite fancy'd the St Andrews area for a change, anyone stayed at the fairmont hotel, looks decent enough on the website but not sure how child friendly it'll be??

Unfortunately not planning on golfing but the carry bag might just accidently sneak into the boot of the motor...for range use only ;)

Anyone stayed there?

It's tremendous, highly reccommend it. Loads of kids about the place when i stayed, so much to do inside the hotel food and drink wise. You'll get round the Kittocks in a few hours too, before she's even noticed. You might be able to get a free round if you ask nice at this time of year

I'm at a conference at the Fairmont on Monday & Tuesday with 500 others so u won't get a room there. Loads of good hotels in St Andrews though and it's much nicer staying in St Andrews as you can walk the Old Course and the beach is great (even in the cold)

Cheers fella, family rooms available at the mo. I see what your getting at .....Dont worry my four month old baby won't keep you awake all night...just most of it :D

Stayed there last year, had a round on the Torrance course while HID had a spar, exellent rooms ,and the service was first class, only thing I was dissaipionted with was the food, for a five star hotel I would have expected more.

My worry isn't someone keeping me awake - its getting to bed in the 1st place! It's an annual conference that gets held there and it's usually drinks until breakfast.

If ur looking at golfing we've had problems for the last 2 years with all of the local courses being closed because they're frozen. Last year we did eventually get out and it wasn't bad. It was strange though as I was at uni there and distinctly remember hitting through 390yd greens as the course was frozen so they must have changed their policy
