Fairmont Hotel Courses

Just won a two night 2 round stay at the Fairmont Hotel in St Andrews, Anyone been? what can I expect?? what are the courses like? they certainly seem to have a good rep.

Been there 2 nights and played the Torrance. Great hotel and the course is a joy to play, with great views as well. You will have a great time!

Only played before they remodeled both courses and they were decent beforehand. Heard friends that had to play a university event there more recently rant but that was more down to playing it off the tips in 30+mph and the rough being dense.

Playing the kittocks on sunday. Will let you know. Played torrance last year and I thought it was fine. I quite like it to be honest.

2 decent courses, nice hotel, great breakfast!

Played the Kittocks yesterday and it was in superb condition. The sun made an appearance and the views were absolutely spectacular. Definitely the best of the two courses. Greens were lightning quick.

It was honestly one of the better courses I've played.

Rounded off a great weekend. Some of the guys struggled even in the benign conditions due to the length of the course though.

Just don't leave your day shoes in changing rooms or someone less scrupulous may swap their mucky tacky scuffy ancient filthy ones with yours. They might even be kind enough to zip then into your golf shoe bag for you...:angry:
