Played my last mid-week comp of the year.

3 hours 10 mins for three of us on a 6600 yard course with a very strong wind. Stroke play so no picking up if out of the hole.

It was pretty dark when we holed out at 18. No great scores, but a bit of an achievement to get round so quickly. We did not rush any shots, just walked quickly.

It's pretty dark by 8.30 now. Hard to get 18 in after work. Give it a few weeks and we'll be lucky to fit 9 in.

Bad times ahead :(

Well done in playing a round of golf in a reasonable time. In respect to the recent thread on slow play, it shows what can be done if you don't faff around. Perhaps we should play all comps late in the afternoon so there is some pressure to get round before it gets dark!

I was looking at breaking my course record yesterday but ran out daylight for last 2 holes so couldn't complete... grrr!

Still I got in more holes than expected and it's always good to get out for a hit

Played in the midweek medal, Wednesday just gone, we were a 4 ball, with another in front, got round in just a little over 3.5hrs, a good pace was kept up, got dark very quickly as a large black rain cloud passed over, but afterwards the sunset was spectacular.

I was out on Tuesday, finished at 8pm. You couldn't have played another hole and even then we were pushing it All very sad as I've played a lot of 9 hole, midweek, evening golf this year.

Interesting that you were out in a 4. 4 ball in a medal is not allowed at my club.

No real reason for this rule IMO, especially if the course is quiet.

The course overall was quiet and originally it was just going to be me and Kraxx, but one of the lads in the three ball behind us was running late and wouldn't have made it until around 16:30hrs which would've meant them not having enough time to finish, so the late runner dropped out and the two left made up our four ball.
