On my iron play which is 6 to wedge i keep my eye on the ball until its gone but for my rescue club and dare i try a wood or driver ive developed a slightly different aproach.
i place the ball up in my stance as i should but i fix my eyes dead centre of my stance at ground where say the ball would be for short irons. so in effect the ball just gets in the way of my swing as it cracks by.if i look at the ball being forward it cocks me up.
should i work to focus on ball or stick with this method cos it works well for me????
advice appreciated

Personally, I don't agree. My eyes may be looking at the ball but really my peripheral vision is doing all the work and is more focused on what the club is doing coming into and through the ball. Your brain makes the necessary adjustments to your swing.

just bought this months GM and on page 85 lesson 4 it explains how to practise starting your swing 2 inches behind the ball with a wood which is kinda like the technique i stumbled across by accident so for me its working so i'll keep at it for a bit longer i think.
thanks for input everyone.
