The warranty runs out on my X3 next month, BMW want £600 for 12 months, just got a quote from warranty direct £470 has anybody had dealing with Warranty Direct ? or can you recommend a good car warranty company

BMW warranty used to be awesome. They would fix any thing, at any cost, no questions asked. Then they out sourced it, and put the price up from about 500 to 2000 (plus 1000 excess) for my wifes car. We then took it away from the dealer network.
Since then, I think they have gone back to their own warranty, but we haven't been back to a dealer to find out. Apparently that one piece of stupidity cost them nearly all of their servicing on cars over 3 years old. They pay the price for being a bunch of idiots.
I have never considered extended warranties as a valid buy if not from the main stealer, as the little sub clauses don't give me much confidence.

Just looking at this myself as my M.Benz warranty has expired,.....they want £998/yr to keep it covered, and which I know would be 'no quibble/cover all' etc etc.

Compared quite a few, Warranty Direct, Warranty Wise, CarProtect.co.uk, etc etc, all less dosh but some less than good reviews of all if you dig.

The one thing that concerns me is the old carrot 'wear & tear'........I mean, cmon......anything that goes wrong on a 4yr old vehicle with 70k on the clock could be descibed as 'wear & tear' in all likelyhood ?????

Dont feel like paying £998, altho I know its the only one that would be complete peace of mind...... :D

I have a policy with Warranty Direct on our X5, just about to drop the motor into a garage to look at an engine light being put on by the o2 sensors. They are actually a decent crowd to deal with AS LONG AS YOUR CAR IS SERVICED. if you miss the servicing periods then forget about it. Being in Northern Ireland they dont have many local garages to recommend so I will end up paying for hte repair then claiming it back from them.
