Explanar,yes or no ?

i don't think the explanar finds many fans these days. i used on with a pro for 10 minutes and not sure it benefitted me much, but i was single figs by then and had corrected the major errors in my swing path.

however, if i'd been put on one when i first started playing i think it would have been pretty useful and helped me understand the basic swing path.

I've a mate that has one in his back garden, says he uses it all the time, but he still has one of the worst swings you are likley to see on a 5 handicap;)

Not sure they help that much. I think we seem to be moving towards the fact there isn't this one perfect swing and it's more important to just be consistent with your own swing? Never used one to be fair though and have no desire to

Used one for 10 minutes a few years a ago during one of my lessons. I can't say I liked it that much and in 9 months, my pro only suggested using it once which I guess tells it's own story.

You only have to look on tour to see there is more than one way to swing a club. We're forever hearing commentators telling us the best players in the world are too steep or flat in their swings, surely if the explanar was that good, they'd all be perfect?

Not for me I'm afraid

There's one at our range and ive never seen anyone using it.

It's a definite NO from me. The club HEAD works on that plane but the body/hands/shaft etc etc don't... therefore it doesn't teach your body the correct moves. If you're off 28 h/cap and generally swing about a mile outside the line on the way down then Yes it might help in the short term just to stop you throwing the club over the top - but you'll still be learning bad positions.... just not as bad as throwing the club over the top :p

I did not enjoy using it with my old pro, my new pro has one but I don't use it. I got a lot more out of being given positions to be in. I would think its one of those "we all learn in different ways" things though.
