Hi guys
I'm having problems with a pair of ecco hybrid tour shoes , i bought on line for £145.00 as pressie from the misses . Whats happening is that the toes are turning up when walking and creasing over my toe, just above the ball of my feet cutting the skin.
I should have sent them back but i had them a few months before i even got a chance to try them , weather ect.
Question can this be sorted by a cobbler if i could find one , or any other suggestions besides cobblers ?.
cheers.

How about some decent insoles?

No idea how to fix it unfortunately but i had read that the Eccos are big in the front foot and though they'd be ideal for me. Not so sure now!
Hope you can get them sorted.

If they fit correctly then this shouldn't be happening!

I read somewhere, FJ site IIRC, that if your foot does not "fill the volume" of the shoe front then you will get additional creasing in the forefoot. Sometimes this can be severe enough to cause foot injury.

Edit: I might add that this is what happened to me with the HiTec DriTec Wide.

I think you may be right about not filling the volume, so maybe as suggested a thicker insole. , might be worth a try.
thanks again

A friend of mine had the same problem and not sure she ever resolved it. It does sound like there is too much room in the front of the shoe which allows the creasing to be "deeper" and therefore cut into your foot so you could try some gel forefoot insoles which would only change the fit in the front...

Have you contacted Ecco to ask for their advice?

It would be a shame not to get use of them but no point wearing them if they are damaging your feet

I think amanda'a suggestion is worth a go. Gel insoles will fill out the ball of the foot area better than a think leather half insole.

It does sound like they are too big, can you feel a lot of space over your foot? And where is your longest toe from the end? You can wear thicker socks and put in insoles, but as the leather gives it will become worse.
Its a real issue with buying shoes, online or in store, you have to choose very carefully.

Thanks for all your thoughts , after visiting two so called cobblers today , one suggested harpo 72's idea of thicker half insole and thicker sock. No joy, £4.00 for new insoles plus my footjoy thick socks -and they still cut the top of my toes .
So i had a brainwave.
I cut a 3inch strip of plastic from a 2ltr cola bottle and cut to fit like a internal toe cap. I played 12holes this afternoon with no problems, brill but no more online shoes for me.
thanks for all your sugestions folks .But i'm looking forward to some comic remarks .

Glad you got a degree of resolution. Out of interest, are they the same size as other shoes you've bought? Do Ecco have a reputation for coming up big in the same way Adidas can come up small
My normal size 9 , but they did feel a bit roomy at the front but tight at the heel to start with.
I should have returned them but because of the time lapse ect i didn't, live and learn.

You should patent that!

I fancied a pair of bioms and tried them and found them big (EU size 42). Im normally an 8 in FJ and they fit like a glove as do an 8.1/2 in Adidas.
