Expected cut?

Played my first comp on Wednesday, was a medal and managed a good round. Shot under handicap, but not sure what cut to expect. I'm off 20 currently so what's the cut per shot under handicap? And what triggers an ESR? Someone I played with mentioned my round may trigger one, but would one good round trigger one? Never played in a comp before and thought that there had to be a string of good rounds put together over so many comps to trigger one? Don't really know alot about it so may be wrong, hence me asking.

How many shots under SSS did you shoot? And no you cant trigger an ESR with 1 round, needs to be 2 rounds within quite a short timeframe, both have to be -4 to CSS or better i think

Off 20 you will be cut 0.3 for every shot under CSS

It depends on how many shots under handicap and what the CSS (competition scratch score) for the competition was.

I played out my skin and shot 9 under my hc. Css was 73, I shot a nett 64. So I would receive 9 0.3 cuts to 17.3
First experience of competitive golf and really enjoyed it. Managed to keep the ball in play all day (no 3 off the tee) and not a single double bogey on the card. Was unbelievably nervous for my first competitive round but something I will be doing regularly from now on

Well done first and foremost.... Was just about to come on before your last post and ask were there any horrific holes as if there are they are reduced to nett double bogies relevant to stroke index which means the cut could be more than just what you shoot under HC. For example last week I shot 67 which was 3 under HC at my course but I got cut 4x0.3 as an 8 got rounded down to a 7 and css stayed the same as sss.

As you've described though yes you should come down 2.7 if css stays the same as SSS. If the course plays easier you'd come down less, if it plays harder you come down more relevant to css.
