Excuses..

I've heard both of the following phrases on my course (which is next to Blackpool Zoo ..... all will become clear).....

"That bird tweeting put me off" after missing a 3ft putt, but the best was "F***ing Lions!" after carving a drive out of bounds just after one of them roared at the top of his backswing.

There is a moto-cross track right across the road from our club, and we're on a direct flight-path for Edinburgh Airport.. the noise from both has been used as excuses by many for their duff shots.

I just blame my lack of ability. :D

a 1 handicapper in the club champs hit a shank on a par 3 and turned round and said 'my glove just didn't feel like it was on properly'.

Ok mate

Personally i always joke that i only use a tour bag so that i can fit all of my excuses in it.

One guy I played with was struggling with his driving and was convinced that the pro that fitted him for his driver had got him the wrong shaft. It was the right brand and stiffness but "he's put a left handed shaft in this instead of a right handed one. I'll have to get him to change it". Me and the other two guys in our group thought he was joking but turned out he was deadly serious and actually went back to the pro to get it changed.

"did you see the wind take that?" as the ball snap hooked on a beautiful calm sunny day:eek:

Yeh i get mixed up in those microstorms, you cant even see them with the naked eye, but they tend to blow left to right for me?! Might be a southern thing, maybe its the Coriolis effect difference between Scotland and Southern England?

Best one I've heard folk come out with is this beauty...

Group in front too slow/Had to wait to take my shot/Broke my rhythm

Yup, done that one. Usually waiting for them to clear the green from 250 yards with a 5 wood!! proceed to top it 40 yards..

I played with a particularly angry guy a few times.
He once blamed his wife for annoying him that morning at breakfast - we tee'd off at 2pm however.
