Is it just me or is he irritating, self righteous and pompous??

This young kid is playing for his career on Sunday but all he did was slate him for being emotional. I turned into my Dad and started shouting at the TV.

Maybe that says more about me than Ewen Murray actually!!

Don't like him also

Out of the sky guys it's really only Howell and Butch that I like

Yes,totally agree with you. Murray must be detached from reality if he doesn't get how important it was for the guy to get a decent score/outcome from that round and tournament. It seemed obvious to me that the young fella was just trying his best showing that if meant something to him.

I like him, seems to talk sense most of the time.
But of course everyone has their moments!

From an older generation of commentators that hasn't kept up with the times. Prefer the commentators on CBS all day.

agree with this

I dont believe it his place to comment like he did on this guy, he made it far too personal and he even admitted that he hadnt even met him, poor show if you ask me.

Are you referring to that Tyrell Hatton bloke who's behaviour was commented on by people on this forum?

Conversely I agreed with ewen on this (I don't think there was a golf commentator that didn't comment on it on Sunday) - Hatton was questioned on it afterwards and he said he needs to work on it. Yes there were periods where he had a laugh and a joke but at times he just seemed so hard on himself.

I think he's fine as a commentator. The kid's behaviour was quite irritating. Needs to be saved from being another Monty and the crowds getting on his back for it (esp in US) and stirring it up.

I'm not keen on him.

At one of the tournaments in china he kept going on about how all the staff at the tourney and the local area in particular were all keen to work long hours for not much cash (prob almost none actually) and kept smiling etc etc without entertaining the idea that they probably had very little choice in the matter and were pleased to have a job or they might starve.

Sounded like one of those lovely free-market rich people who can't get their heads around the rather brutal reality faced by most of the world's population.
