I'm going to take a wild stab here and suggest that Doom is predicting a bad result for the UK entry due to the Brexit vote. Conveniently ignoring the fact that since we last won it in 1997 we've only finished in the top 10 on 3 occasions, the last of those being back in 2009 when we finished 5th. We also finished last in 2003, 2008 and 2010.
But let's not let the facts get in the way of another opportunity to have a dig at Brexit. It's the Leavers wot done it. It's all your fault when we don't win Eurovision this year.

Eurovision is an absolute riot! It's so bad that it's funny. I don't give a monkeys who wins as long as there are the usual issues of loaded voting, some lovely young ladies in short skirts etc.....

I don't think it will matter how good or bad the song choice is, we'll be last, it's a given.

That would probably do quite well as many Europeans like the Scots and Nicola.
That is so funny you got a good chortle out of me. Reality; most Europeans haven't a clue who the political leaders are in most other European countries. They might like a nation, e.g. I really like the Italians/Spanish/Portuguese... and obviously those of the UK & Ireland.
A good test of that is can you name 5 European political leaders other than those of the UK countries?
