Had the pleasure of playing at Woburn yesterday in the European Senior Tour Pro-Am courtesy of Powerbug.

We played 18 holes around the Dukes course with Mr. Powerbug himself, a certain Mr. Price and Paul who also comes on the forum.

Not been to Woburn before but was extremely impressed with the set-up! Managed to get my car sandwiched in between an Aston Martin DB 9 and a Jaguar F Type so didn't look out of place at all.

The day included -
Bacon roll, pastries, coffee and OJ upon arrival with a goody bag (Pro V's, Ping top, Course planner, etc.).
Buggy to the range to hit a load of Pro V's before tee off.
Got to try out the Powerbug Lithium UltraV trolley.
18 holes round the Dukes setup for tournament play of course with Mr. Price as company.
Nibbles and refreshments around the course.
Top quality 3 course meal afterwards + a look at what you could have won presentation.

Cracking day out all for a few hours in the car.

Saw a fair few names there on the day too, not to mention Mr. Price.

The Dukes hardly had a blade of grass out of place and the fairways were like carpets. Real treat being out there.

Many thanks to Rob (Mr. Powerbug) for having us along for the day. The Trolley I was using was a very nice bit of kit and amazed at the new small and lightweight batteries that are now on offer. The old batteries are part of the thing that made me put my old trolley away.

No pictures unfortunatly as Microsoft just updated my windows phone and for some reason they decided to include a non functioning camera update aswell.

Sounds like a good day.
How did you come to get invited?
Sounds like you might have added a few pounds to that waistline mate.:D

Did put on a little bit! There was free wine on the table too so had to stay around on the putting green for a little while after the event to let the extra half glass get out of my system.

I think BTatHome mentioned they were looking for Pro-Am players through the facebook page a few weeks back and followed them then this came up so cashed in some of my nice guy points.
As Powerbug sponsor the Seniors Tour they thought it would be a nice idea to get some different people along for the Pro-Am days.

it was on FB kindly highlighted by BT@home when a similar opportunity at Fairmont St Andrews was available.
I will give my full write up later.

Beat me too it.

Well played too Paul some really good stuff in place out there.

Did you still want to have a look at my handicap certificate?

i played in one at st mellion, sponsored by crown golf, cracking few days only spoilt by S.TORRANCE the grumpiest man in the world, got loads of freebies, shirts, gloves and as srixon were supplying brand new balls for the practice area 6 dozen balls, plying with the pros just shows how we play a different game,if you get a chance to play in a top pros comp do it it will be the best golfing experience you will have.

Awesome that both of you got on it, always good to see some sharing working out to the benefit of the forum.

Unfortunately there was no way I could of made this one, as work was manic in they last week before the kids get back.

He does have something of a reputation! Having met him a few times - in various parts of the country and as many non-golf instances as golf ones - his apparent (and real) grumpiness is occasionally witty and part of his whole persona! Andrew Oldcorn competes for the title imo. In fact, any Senior Golfer who has had big wins or unfulfilled potential is liable to either be a grump or just very (perhaps too) easy going!
