The next european ryder cup team could be unreal!
there are so many young players coming through, which apart from lacking a bit of experience, are unbelievably talented!
there are a few players which make up for any experience lacked at the younger end. people like jimenez are verterans by now and i think a young ryder cup team rides the hype more than being scared by it!

who is your money on for the next ryder cup in Wales 2010?

rory mcilroy will be amazing to watch i think! match play him and tiger??

I think in match play Tiger would ease past Mcilroy, don't get me wrong Mcilroy is good, very good but one win does not a tiger beater make. Mcilroy needs a bit more time to come good and he needs the press to stop touting him as the next world beater because as we all know they put you up there until it suits then they knock you back down again. He is also surrounded lots of excellent players of around the same age who have also won. Yeah he should be in the team but IMO he needs easier matches than Tiger.

I think McIlroy is a precocious talent but is definitely the finished article and the hullabaloo of the RC may actually be too much of a burden. I agree that Woods would have too much experience and would in my estimation beat him 3&2 which isn't to say he will know he's been in a fight. As we saw last time if the US get on a roll they are very hard to stop and they have a wealth of experienced RC players who have been there. I'm a little nervous that our young lions may not be able to handle the intense and unique pressure.

That said on home soil and a partisan crowd providing Montgomery is sensible with his picks and the pairings we should be fine this time around and then the young guns will know what its about and McIlroy and co will be on fire and spank the yanks on their home soil again

I just wonder how much Rory Mc put on himself when he was rather disparaging of the Ryder Cup a few months back.
in fact, maybe his stance has alienated him from the others?

We have a few good young uns around--Kaymer, McIlroy, Fisher, Wilson throw in Poulter, Casey, Donald, Stenson, Hansen and a few experenced guys, Harrington, Jimenez, Westwood possible Clarke and we have the makings of a good team.

Trouble is we had a good team last time but some of the big names didn't "play"!
I wouldn't be unhappy with a team like that going out.

Jiminez was a real disapointment in the last Ryder cup and yanks had a great team without the Tiger (Weekley, Kim, Mahan, Furyk et al) and the home crowd (not sure I agree with the Boo Weekley thing). I think at all went wrong at the opening address for Europe to be honest and went down hill from there.

I think McIlroy is a real talent and the man who will one day turn the Tiger into a pussy cat, but not just yet; He's too inexperienced, which isnt a bad thing as he has the balls to take a risk.

Casey is another star, who will almost certainly get a team place, well I hope he does.

Come on Europe!! I would be there myself but 'Mr Draw Man' has decided I would be better off watching from home :(
