Morning all

It's my wifes 30th this year so I'm going to take her and our 3 year old to Eurodisney for a long weekend.

On initial looks a price of around £900 seems to keep coming up. This is for Eurostar return from Ashford, 2 nights with 3 days park passes on a half board basis.

It seems like a lot of money to me, in my head I was expecting £500-£600 ish.

Does anyone have any hints or tips?

We've always booked the hotel and train separate and saved a few quid but cheap it ain't! Train direct with eurostar and hotel with world travellers.
This way you can get cheapest train fare by moving dep and return a day or two to cheapest fare rate.
Stay in a disney hotel not much dearer but worth the little extra for priority park access.
If going on train pay for disney express baggage drop allowing you to leave bags at station and go straight into the parks. Collecting bags at hotel later .
Would also recommend the character breakfast at Cafe Mickey.

We drove, it wasn't too bad, about 3 hours from calais. The eurotunnel is cheap as chips, in fact the last 3 times i have paid zero by using tesco clubcard vouchers which double up for eurotunnel. Last time we went, we stayed in the main hotel, which gives you early access to the park. Check out New York, New York hotel too, slightly cheaper but still really good quality.

Have not stayed there, but the cabins are supposed to be very good and provide better value.. But one thing is for sure, its not going to be cheap dude, sorry.

Whatever it costs it will be worth the smiles that will be on your face, your wifes face and your 3yr olds face for the whole time. It is a while since I was in Paris but we had a great time. If there are any big rides that you want to do then use the fast pass system. It works very well and is simple to use. Otherwise, enjoy.

Don't be tempted to drop a piano on the mouse from a 3rd story window

Apparently its just a costume with a real person inside!

Hid went at Autumn half term with Grandson for 5 days which was too long, was about £1700. Complained about the lateness of the Halloween party and got £70 back . Also had priority access to park but premium rides not open :(

I took my 3 year old a bit ago and to be honest I don't think she got the most out of it. May be she had it on her that day, but she didn't like the queuing and it was very busy. We are lucky to have friends in Paris and have been back again when she was older, and it was much better then. But of course you will know your child better and she may well be old enough to enjoy it.

As others have said it is very expensive, with a sandwich, drink and a bag of crisps for 3 not giving you much change form 50 euros from memory. I've also been lucky to go to the US version and they do do the Disney thing very well. I sometimes get the impression the French think they are too good for this 'cheap American import'. Yes the staff seem smiley enough but I always get the impression they are faking it more than the yanks do. But again I am probably reading too much into it. Would also say that 3 days is enough as whilst it is quite big, think you'll struggle to find things to do after 3 days.

But if the kid is enjoying it who cares how much it costs?;)

Have been twice within last 4 years for weekends. My youngsters loved it. Disney studios is great for them with a few shows. I recommend the baggage collect also as its so hassle free. I'd recommend sequoia lodges. A nice pool for guests their too.

last money saving tip I'd give is that there is a McDonald's I. The Disney village. The park food is basically triple the cost and no better. We always just used McDonald's in the evening. Probably saved 100/150 euros over 3 days.

The earl of sandwich is good value too next door to mcdonalds

I took my family nearly 4 years ago. £1600 for 3 nights full board at their cheapest hotel.Very good break and we'll worth the money.Spent about £400 on too of that. Between flight and train, that took us straight to Disney was about 5 hours from leaving house.
