Es12 launch monitors

I'd like to compare it to GC2 and it has been compared to it and can find that comparison on you tube, and It came out pretty well with all things considered. You have to be realistic in the comparisons but I like it, I got the ES club fit app which is extra and you can input all the club specs and you get a read out of distance, launch and flight path and dispersion of each differing club. I've tried 2 drivers out and got pretty much similar readings, but are similar in spec and shafts, so I think I need to try something opposite end of the scale. The recent data I got from the driver comparison was
100mph SS
271 carry and roll
11-12 degree launch
2100-2300 spin
150mph ball speed.

The irons you have to input the lofts of each club so you need to know that as there is some algorithm workings to produce some of the data.

But overall, I can't afford £6000+ for the biggies, so the ES14 will do for me.

This info you get, can be sent by email, the dispersion chart you evaluate yourself after you hit your shot and tell the monitor if it went straight/left/right.
The other chart gives you a summary of each of the clubs you are comparing to.

Doesn't tell you what the machines are actually measuring, rather than calculating. Unless I missed it?

I would be very suspicious of anything that doesn't actually measure launch angle, ball speed and spin.

Me too, hence not owning one.....

I'd love a launch monitor, but the compromises are too great on all the "consumer" ones I've seen.

I'd rather have no data than bad data...

Get what you pay for I suppose, but I can't justify the outlay on a GC2 or a flightscope.

I have investigated it a number of times and there is nothing with a budget that provides launch and spin..... I am over the idea though. I would be a candidate for over analysis - paralysis. Its best I focus on my target, more target focus and a bit more, then just hit the thing.

I've owned a ES12 and Flightscope Xi+ and considering the price difference of nearly 20 times less, the ES12 was pretty good for distance measurements.

A few caveats;
You have to strike it well. It measures ball speed and calculates everything else IIRC.

If you are just wanting to get solid numbers on club gapping and work on short game control, its pretty darn good. The rest of the data take with a pinch of sale really. Not sure on the ES14, but assuming its a bit more accurate...?

This is due out soon which is being heralded as the first proper consumer doppler LM to be any good, from what I've read. Here's just one link to info - http://www.golfalot.com/equipment-news/voice-caddie-swing-caddie-sc200-launch-monitor-3276.aspx

I do see a lot of comments around this subject of people wanting accurate launch, spin, dynamic loft blah blah all for a few hundred quid - but really what are you going to do with those numbers if you don't want to invest in something that gives them accurately. IMO peeps are best off, if interested in numbers to improve your game, knowing distance of each club for a swing type. Then you can improve long:short dispersion which is most ammeter golfer nemesis!

You can already import them for half the price on eBay. It's alright, nothing special. It's unreliable picking up shots and makes no adjustments for range balls so had little use for me

Seems I opened a can of worms

not really, put it this way your always going to get doubters no matter what, but I'd rather hit range balls and using the ES14 and adding 10-15% then to go to AG and using their jacked up launch monitors.

I've got a SC200 and it seems very good. The data is limited as it just gives you swing speed, ball speed, smash factor and carry distance. But as you say, that's all I kind of wanted it for so I can accurately see just how far my clubs actually go. Already after one session I can see that in a lot of cases a 3 wood goes just as far as my driver.
