Ernie Els is leaving Callaway for TaylorMade at the end of the year.

Some have said that he had some of best days at TaylorMade, but, is this a good move?

Maybe he thinks a change in clubs will give him a new lease of life .

I can understand why he has done it. Whatever their reputation as a provider on the high street, I do think at the very top level TM offer a superb level of service to their pros. I happen to think Callaway do the same too so I have to say I wonder if cash for Els and the Kudos of an iconic name in the game for TM was too good to resist

Ernie's return to TM is suitable for everyone involved if you think about it, Ernie gets a change and probably a better sponsorship deal,

TM get one of their biggest players back and he will give them more credibility (is that the right word?) as they are getting one of the 'old heads' of golf on their books, which may make them more appealing to some.

Callaway are getting a player who may in their eyes have their best days behind who would have been one of their highest earners, allowing them to focus on the younger market, which they seem to be doing these days.

As a big fan of Ernie, it'll be weird to see him playing anything other than Callaway as that's all I've known him in!

The rumours last week suggested he would be using the kit from 4 brands, likely to be Adidas/Ashworth/ TM/Adams .... which sounds like a great way to mixandmatch so you get the best out of everything.

I believe at least 2 out of his 4 Majors were with TM Clubs!

I thought it looked really strange when he was using the Cally FTi!

His use of the original Rescue Mid (I'm still using one) was what (really) started then hybrid revolution imo.

Ernie could hit any club on the planet but I remember him more at TM.

I'm sure more would move if they got better deals for that same reason
