hi all,

I recieved an email today confirming that I have been chosen to be a tester in the first phase of the panel.

I am to recieve a set of :

Nike Sumo Irons - 4-SW - uniflex shafts.

Has anyone else recieved this email and if so what product or clubs did you get.

I'm to test out some new FootJoy DryJoys pods shoes. Look lovely on the web. Just as my old GreenJoys were developing some cracks, too. Perfect timing. Must have done something good in a previous life.

Thank you GM. Just in time for my birthday tomorrow, too. You've made a soon to be older man very happy.
 
Oh yes, I get to try out the new Mizuno mp600 driver 9.5 degree with fujikura stiff shaft, hubba hubba.

Btw, i didnt really understand what the email said.

I interpreted it that, if the manufacturer doesnt require the clubs, or products to be sent back, do we get to KEEP them.

Is this right, or was it my mistake.

Liam, sounds as though i got one of the best products also.

Id say cost woud be a major decider, that and finding someone else who will wear your trial footjoys JF!!!
Make no mistake fellas, these arnt a freebie, we are helping the mag in return for trying out clubs we might not ever get to have a go with, getting to keep them afterwards is in the lap of the gods, hopefully this particular god already has a driver he is happy with so I get to keep this one! haha.
 
It is a bit wooly. I think that any non personal items tested i.e. Clubs, bags or trolleys will be returned and then used for the post prises for the guys and gals who get a mention in the mag. Things like shoes, clothing and balls may be non returnable. I for one wouldn't like to win a pair of shoes Mr Cheesey toes Findlay has had on for a month or so. I could just the the Society day where the guy who won them thanking J_F for the verruca. And beside I am not a size 8.
 
Im another of the chosen few im testing a Galvin Green 'Ames' Paclite Anorak. Absolutely over the moon with the opportunity!

Dont think we should say much more on the matter and save it for our reviews.

Hopefully we will be offered the products at a very very very reasonable price after testing?
 
Seems we are all getting excellent kit to writeup on.
Im off to do some xmas shopping (actually im brushing up on my topgear style anecdotes! for the review Muhahah)
 
The funny thing was,

I hadnt bothered to tell my mum about this, thinking i would not have a hope in hell of winning. When the email came through i had to spend 20 mins explaining it to her. She kept saying there must be a catch because no-one in our family has ever one an opportunity like this.

She finally gave in and I was able to accept the preposition from Gm.

i think this post is very unacceptable ,especially to us guys who were not asked to trial out any of the quality gear that i stare at in shops day in day out wondering how it would feel with a nice new grip in our hands, why dont you just rub our nosies in it, why dony you post pictures with you all laughing at us, now am starting to shake and batter the wife, I NEVER GET PICKED FOR ANYTHIN ITS NOT FAIR !!!!!!!!!!!!!
NAH just having a laugh guys, sounds like good stuff, Madandra geez a shout when your arrives so i can have a look
 
Depends on your idea of luck, I am down to try out the 2 new types of Topfite ball, Freak and Gamer. Mind you the last Topfilte balls, distance, straight etc were not too bad so we shall see
 
Have you not considered how testing different clubs might throw you off your game? I would be inclined to stick to the clubs you know!
I wouldn't say you were lucky to be a tester unless they give you the gear after or at least let you try it out at Black Diamond Ranch or somewhere else suitably exotic.
 
Wonder if I made it in!? Probably not knowing my luck! Won't know until I head back into office tomorrow and check emails.
