it's fine

wan't that long ago that all grips were put on that way, I used to have mine made in exactly the same way as a badminton grip but with thinned leather strips.....ah the pleasure in the rain :(

appendix 2 3 (i) further confirms......."a slightly indented spiral is permitted on a wrapped grip or a replica of one"

Ta, just to double check I've explained it fully, their is a little bit of overlap on each turn of the wrap.

This was what concerned me.

i remember my father showing me how to put a spiral leather grip on a club, whip it with thread and then apply clear nail varnish to the thread to waterproof it.

Bit of a lost art I suspect, though I may have seen it advertised at golfsmith schools. I suppose it may even be on youtube somewhere.

I was shown how to re-whip a clubhead a long while ago, probably put the loop the wrong way if I tried now though :(

I've never been shown how to do the grips, a friend put the badminton tape on a spare putter for me. It's a STX so has a rubber bit that they wrap the tape onto (the rubber fits over the shaft and as a result it's a thin shaft and then the STX wrap is applied). The grip had worn a bit smooth and I prefer a thicker grip anyway. I didn't want to cut it off and have a thicker grip put on as it'd need a lot of fattening to even put a grip on.
