England v Scotland GM Ryder Cup part 2...

Hi all,
I have had a few guys asking if the rematch will be going ahead next year so thought I best keep you informed with any plans.

With the Castle Stuart trip in April I feel maybe it may be an idea to hold over the rematch until this time next year or around late September 2010 to November 2010.

If people would like to give an indication on if they feel this may be a good move I would appreciate your thoughts.

If the rematch were to take place at Goswick (I think most were happy for that)in say September/October 2010 I think that I would still be able to get a deal of around £50 for the 36 holes and a bite to eat.

All ideas/thoughts are welcome fellas....

A lot of guys are gonna be involved in the GM v Golf Magic event on 29th/30th May 2010 too so maybe that makes sense but I'm easy.

I'm sure it would all add to the build-up for the rematch.

When I put the idea of the Castle Stuart trip to the wife the reply i got was "I take it your trip to Berwick is not happening in February this year then"

I shall inform her that she is correct and will be happening in September

I'm sure I could rustle up a few GM staff for this as they were gutted they couldn't do it this year because Jan-Mar is always hideous for us - autumn time is always much better for getting out and about

Good time of year to play and Goswick is certainly a great venue, but is it in keeping with RC style traditions playing again at the same place?

Gives us a chance to see the course in better condition than an early season visit. Mind you the rough might be a bit tougher at that time of year.

Seriously, sensible option considering that Castle Stuart etc is happening in the early part of the year.

I certainly think the Match should be replayed as it was a great weekend last time around and a good time was had by all, even Fraser and me !

I'd originally planned to do the Inverness area in September with the society but as I <u>am</u> going to Castle Stuart (I'm hand delivering the cheque today!) I can forgo that for the re-match.
