England are playing Scotland at Wembley in mid August. Anyone care to hazard a guess on the score and how many supporters are likely to make the trip South of the Border?

It seems these days that there is so little interest in Internationals with Wembley rarely full

We have been given 20k I think but are struggling to sell out.

No wonder,no matter how anyone sexes is up it's a friendly,we are pish,£45 minimum a ticket,£4 a pint and it's in the hole that is London.

No interest at all for me.A mate of mine wanted to get the train down for a 2 dayer.........I would rather go away for the weekend with my Mother in Law.

Agreed with everything until I saw that bit in bold. London is a wonderful city full of diverse culture, plenty to see and do and cracking for a good pub crawl.

Could be worse they could be playing in the hole that is Glasgow.

As an Englishman who has lived in both London and Glasgow your assessment of London is fair, your assessment of Glasgow is rubbish. Glasgow is a fantastic city, given the choice of which to live in then Glesga wins hands down.

London is a hole.

I didn't say Glasgow isn't but London is a midden.

The bit of London I lived in was quite nice to be honest, bumped into Arsene a couple of times in Waitrose; the bit I worked in on the other hand was like Beirut with windows.

Jose will be there for two seasons, tops.

Sister lived for 6 years in Harrow on the Hill which was fine but a mile down the road.......jesus!!

2 days in London had me demented.Hate the place with a passion.Would be more than happy if I never see it again.

It is a great city (parts of), but once you've seen everything well..... it's just like living anywhere else. Too impersonal and lacks the human comedy of a day time session in the dear green place. :)

I'm more worried that we won't be able to put a team out. We've got a proper competitive game this week and the players are dropping like flies either retiring or going down with mysterious injuries. Ok, we're already out but it'd be nice to at least try to salvage some pride in the group. Then again, I'm sure all the glory hunters will gladly pull on the strips to play the auld enemy. Just not to traipse off to Croatia in June.

Can't believe how low Scotland have dropped.....

Was walking the dog over at Mar Hall today while Scotland were training, got talking to one of the coaching staff while he was clapping the mutt; asked if there was a worry about pull outs through injury and obviously compared it to the lack of depth on England's bench last night. WGS has 24 and is happy with that apparently, a great spirit in the squad I was told.

Then we talked about golf courses :)

A game I am dreading to be honest. A pretty average England team by their standards but streets ahead of our mob who are gong backwards with every year that passes, every tournament qualification failure and every inadequate managerial appointment.

We are so poor that even a hiding wouldn't be a watershed moment, just a perfectly foreseeable outcome. Christ half of our squad STILL eat in Nandos after a morning training session (as long as there is a bookies nearby) Can you imagine the likes of Defoe or Walcott indulging in that kind of lifestyle.

Fear for our dignity, I really do.

Based on my experiences of Glasgow which I've been to many times is that it is a hole. Edinburgh on the other hand is a city I really liked and happily return to now and again.

As for the game itself won't be watching as England games hold no interest for me, it's as poor an England squad as I can ever remember but should still be far to strong for Scotland.

i wonder how many drop outs england will get too it being just days after the charity shield and before the season starts in england it will alraedy of started in scotland, you can only imagine managers up and down the countries will dread their players making the squad.
And i bet the Met are looking forward to it too............

.

I was in Edinburgh last Thursday for a few hours and have to agree with you Fader, but driving out was a nightmare - 2 lanes with one a bus lane! I never thought I was going to make the airport! Would love to return though for a proper look.

I pop to London quite regularly on the fast train and love London too!

If Scotland really click, they could put a couple past England.
If England really click, it'll be a battering.
If they both click, it'll be a miracle.

Not seen a good match from either for a looooong time.

Try driving on these roads every day Chris!!!!!!!!! It will all be ok when the trams arrive though

You could quite easily describe edinburgh as a hole as well. Get off the city tour bus and take the LRT outer circle route and you will soon find out why

We have not been to London now for over 20 years that would be after my English wife ordered me to get her out of this dump!
Glasgow and Edinburgh city centres are much better, with Glasgow folk the friendliest. London folk just seem to be totally up their own backsides.
Re football, meaningless game, naebody is bothered up here. I used to be able to name the players of an England squad. The squad now seems to be mainly reserves for EPL teams. [60% of which are Jonny Foreigners.]

Sadly you don't find too many "London folk" in London these days other than 'just visiting'... It certainly ain't the place my parents grew up in... Was the greatest of cities but recent 'events' tell a different story...

As for the footie might just try and get there for old times sake...
